Just accepted an offer with a huge local dealership chain for a full time summer marketing internship! I’ll be working with all facets of their marketing department across all 18 brands they carry, but with a specific emphasis on their luxury dealerships (Bentley, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Porsche). If all goes well, it’ll be a full-time job after I graduate next year. I’m so incredibly excited!

For those curious, here are all the brands:

Awesome! Congratulations!

Internships are a really great way to get experience and get your foot in the door. And truth be told, if it doesn’t work out as planned for a full time job, or you decide you want to do something else, the experience is still there and it helps make you more marketable.

Out of my group of friends from college, the few that are still “underemployed” (we graduated 6 years ago) are the ones that didn’t have summer internships and didn’t do any extra cirriculars (professional society, project like Formula SAE, etc.). So good on you!

Thanks! This is my 3rd summer internship, I had one paid part-time and one unpaid, so it’s a big step!

That’s excellent. I had 2 summer interships, both paid. Both also wanted me to come work for the, but I declined both. The first one was awesome - I got to play with lasers and explosives and stuff, but the commute was like 1.5 hours there, 2.5 hours home (DC B eltway traffic works funny sometimes) , every day. It was soul crushing. I decided to get a different internship the next year that was just across town... then when I got onboard they put me at a remote test site that was almost as far away as the last job (1 hr there, 2 h rs home). So I noped out on that one as well. Now I work at a sister installation to the first place, and I think that experience really helped me get in here.
